What have i been up to this quarantine

TO BE HONEST nothing nothing at all. This COVID-19 has made this past month and spring break absolutely boring. Living in a Hispanic house hold has been dreadful. They work us like slaves. I thought that I would have peaceful vacation but NOOO. My family had other plans. Their plan was to put us to clean the house, cut the grass and even babysit. LIKE WHO WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF KIDS. But nonetheless i found ways to entertain myself such as watching shows, playing board games ,on TikTok, and drawing outside. Overall spending time at home with my family has been good there hasn’t been any fights YET.

we played loteria
we went outside and did some art that we saw on TikTok

yummy food in a Mexican household

If you are hispanic your mom would always tell you “ay comida en la casa” when you wanted something out to eat. My mom would always tell me this when I wanted to eat out. She thought me to grow up with household food rather than fast food. She made many delicious dishes with lots of spices. These are many of the things my mom would cook. There is no step by step on how to make them as my mom always said when teaching me how to cook “tu nomas echale hasta cuando sepa bueno”.

Mi C U L T U R A

“Mesa de ofrenda en honor a los qke ya no estan fisicamente con nosotros pero siempre estan viviendo en nuestro corazon”

There are many cultural activities me and my family celebrate together. One of the things we celebrate in Mexico and here in the U.S is “El dia de los muertos”. During October 31st and November 2nd we put up ofrendas(shrines) to remember and honor our loved ones who have passed away. In the ofrenda we put up their picture, food they used to like and things they loved to do. We also put water in a pitcher so the spirit of our loved ones can quench their thirst, candles so our loved ones can find their way to us and lastly we put bread that they may have loved when they were alive.

A view up in the sky

This picture describes the time me and my family went too Panama City and stayed on one of the highest levels of the hotel. The hotel was overall great but what caught my eye was the view from the balcony. The view was mesmerizing and beautiful you could see the whole beach with the sound of the calming waves. As the sun was setting I went out to the balcony and sort of fought my fear of heights and I stretched my arm with my phone and i caught a picture of the beautiful sunset.
